we were playing with this idea for a while now . my mechanic is doing 200 km everyday to come at the shop . he love his b6 audi , it's the perfect car for him (for me too ) cheap , easy to maintain , to work on , to get parts for ... you get the idea ... so we strucked a deal , i will find all the parts he need , he will swap both cars( mine and his ) . remember , these swaps are going to be on a budget ( a very limited one ) , sorry for my english , i'm french

There is a nice looking 2002 Audi A6 Quattro in an auciton tuesday.

I'm kinda hoping the engine is shot.

The car you folks are making is what VW should be selling in this country - as an affordable VW.

So I'll certianly be watching with interest. Even if I don' tge tthe car tuesday I would like to do this swap.

I always love seeing a TDI installed in the correct orientation

What kind of electronic work are we talking about ?

What engine mount brackets did you use for the longitudinal ALH?

All the gauges work now , took a lot of tinkering with the wires . Gab Eurosport did a wonderful job with the adaptation

I know this is an old thread, but would like to know something. Did you just rewire the original ALH ECU to the b6 body harness or more was involved to do this swap?

Just import one ! They about the 2.5k -3 k euro mark, factory made with the ATJ pd engine in Europe or with the AFN 1.9 tdi VE engine. The facelift pd has 7 speed and better underpinnings compared to AFN which came only in prefacelift on some markets !
I have a very, very tidy b5 tdi Quattro but with the 6 cylinders v6 engine in it, for some reason I like it a lot more, however if a decent pd engines will come my way it will be snapped asap ! The pd combo/b5 avant quattro is in my opinion the best blend of power and decent handling although even the b6 tdi Quattro or b7 tdi Quattro is a nice blend !
Just tuned a BPW 8v 2.0 tdi engine for a mate, I fitted a bv43a turbo cartridge into bv43 housings from the 2.0 16v engine, almost plug and play ! With a tune and dpf delete it goes really, really well ! Car is a dog (had A light front accident and requires a full front end) but runs very well and the Quattro, 6 speed manual and the engine works very well together.

For north america, 25 years old is the cutoff. At this time, imports are limited to 1999.
