Top Gear is entertainment, but it's also stupid low value entertainment. It appeals to the masses. Yes, raw power is king on Top Gear. That's mostly what they promote.

Yes - pretty hilarious as long as you are not put off by toilet humor. No substantive bearing on anything coming to market now.

That's a sharp little car! Make it handle good, look sharp and get 50 mpg and I'd buy one.

Just noticed this thread and, while the video is a couple of years old, I suggest that they send a Scirocco to RyanP. and do the road test over again.

But to be honest.. years ago when they did the review of the Prius, (where they destroyed it at the end), Clarkson flat out said to get a Golf TDI, "it's a much better car in every single way".

But like some auto mags... power is king... if you want the average car, go watch "Motorweek"... and fall asleap.
