I do not fully understand how California sales tax laws work. If you ship parts out of state, do you have to still charge California sales tax?

Also on a slightly related note, how do your shipping rates work. Do you have flat rates for shipping, or is it a factor of package weight. I (and I'm sure others as well) am curious how this will work.

Yes and no.

If a retail customer comes in to purchase a part, they will be charged regular retail price.

However, If a retail customer comes in and says "I am a member of TDIClub" or I found your site, then we will have no problem honoring the prices quoted.

No. I believe it is a federal law that any out of state purchases can not be taxed. Unless they are picked up over the counter. Say for example you came to me to pick up parts, then I would be required to tax them.

Shipping rate is based on true UPS prices. We do not believe in packaging or handling prices. We get boxes and picking supplies every day from our daily Vw orders. Why charge the customer for that?

What we pay to ship it is what you pay. Nothing extra.
