Default Trusted mechanic needed in Nor-Cal

I ordered a new flywheel thinking that my diesel mechanic boyfriend would put it in for me, but he apparently doesn't have the time to help me so I need someone to put it in for me. I have an 06 with the DSG and I ordered the Diesel Geek flywheel and all the bolts and all the tools needed. I'm in the Jackson area and I would like to not have to go any farther than the greater Sacramento area.

Thanks,
Mikaela

Send Matt 98-AHU an pm and if he has enough work up here he will come up and do the job for you. Jackson is a little ways away. Tell you boyfriend he will not get any ... (dinner, lunch, etc) until your new clutch goes in; I am sure he will get on it right way! If you can hold off in February March we will have a NorCal GTG again ...

I looked into talking to him, but honestly, I'm not interested in paying someone to drive here. I really don't have the money to pay for someone to do it, and that is why my boyfriend was supposed to do it, but apparently his race truck is more important that my daily driver not completely catapulting. I want to drop the car off and come back and pick it up, but there are no shops based in Sacramento on the list so I figured I would ask.

I'm in Auburn, but I asked ndamico (nicktane) who he used...his response was "i would check with Ken Imler Diesel performance - 916.920.3775. he's done a 3 clutches on 3 tdi's for me."

I wound up going with a local here in Auburn due to time constraints. Clutches are no fun unless you have experience with them, so I don't blame a diesel mechanic for not diving right in.

What did you decide? I will be in Citrus Heights shortly so it would be nice to know who is available and how the experience was as well.

not sure why you don't think there are any shops in Sac- As i was quoted saying earlier - Ken Imler Diesel Performance. My golf is sitting over there right now along with my dually.

They've never let me down on anything tdi or truck yet. there's a reason they are the only shop in town that is always booked out.

Just start driving his race truck to work... he'll start working on the TDI right away.

She was referring to the "Trusted Mechanics & Gurus" list/thread...there aren't any Sacramento-area listings on it.

Just checking in to see if your boyfriend made time to fix your car of it you have gotten fixed at a shop.

Plus there seem to be some obsolete listings.

And it would be nice to find some in TRUE Northern California (which is north of Sacramento). The ones listed are all in the Bay, Central, and Southern California areas.
