OK, I'll start making my travel arrangements. I only wish I didn't have to cross Nevada again - that is a long boring trip whether by I80 or US50.

It's not in Kentucky two years in a row. 2010 was in Portland, Oregon; 2011 was in Lexington, Kentucky; 2012 is going to be in Ypsilanti, Michigan.

But yeah... the location is sweet and the hotel looks great. We're going to do a little hotel preview at the 5th annual Auto Show GTG (weekend of Jan 14th). See the thread in the Mid-West forum for info.

I guess there's some back story here... A nickname for that area of MI is Ypsitucky, during WWII a lot of people moved from Kentucky to that area to work in the factories.

Lots of logistics to figure out. What we had in mind may be more trouble than it's worth.

Congratulation for selecting a site for 2012 get together. This will give enough time for oldpipoo, oilhammer, wingnut, etc. to participate.

Hmmm... 569 miles and 10 hours away. I could make it there on one tank of Diesel...hopefully.

Last I looked, Automobile Magazine was in Ann Arbor as well. And Ypsi has the nation's last Hudson dealership, Miller Motors, which is now a museum dedicated to cars built out at the old Willow Run bomber plant. It also has a Deja Vu for you love shack geeks and a coffee house-motorcycle repair shop called Cafe Racer. Washtenaw County even has SEVEN breweries, one of which is right there in Ypsitucky.
