Car Info: 1997 Passat TDI

Car passed Maine State inspection this month.

Over-all condition of this car is good

New suspension (front & rear) Bilsteins within the past 60 days.

The odometer speaks for itself.

A pretty good Passat specimen.

The Passenger front door has some light to moderate corrosion.

Now... The not so good news.
The engine had a Timing Belt (TB) job done with the "mark & pray" method. The TB has skipped.
The cylinder head needs a rebuild. The injection pump is shot (making evil knocks and rattles) as the timing can not be adjusted either advance or retard.

The car needs a rebuilt cylinder head and a rebuilt injection pump.

Selling this car for $2,500.00
PS: This car has a brand new VW OEM battery (less than 24 hrs old).

I'll wadger that you do a "Stand Up" comedy routine too.
What's the difference between Linda Lovelace and LeBron James?

Linda didn't choke on the big ones.

Why can't the NBA send the "Heat World Champion" T-shirts to the poor in the third World?

Because they didn't print "choking hazard" on the labels.

I know someone wants a decent B4.

I am thinking of offering a great deal to the right person.

If one were to agree to have Herm fix the car then I will SUBSTANTIALLY reduce the price.

I emailed / messaged both the seller and HERM two days ago and have not received a reply. My bad for saying I was in Texas but that wouldn't stop me from testing the MPG on the way down.

Looks like it could be a nice car when fixed up.

Scharpe St Guy

$2200 according to the other thread.

I've been in contact with seller and Herm, and have a plan to look at the car on Friday. Unless seller disagrees I think we have the begginings of a deal in place.

Are those ESM Phat 5 Star Wheels ? They look great!

I've been considering purchasing a set of new alloys. I'm realy getting sick of steelies, would like to compliment the sedan's body more. The ones I found look similar to those off the ESM site.

What dimension and offset did you use to make them clear fenders ok?

The wheels are Borbet type 'a''s I believe..off my old e30.

15", not sure of the offset but going from BMW to VW you get nothing but clearance.
