RyanP's 157hp 318ft/lbs Mk2 Caddy TDi Van
dThought I'd finally make a topic for my van, I've had it for 18months and never found the time to make a post, plus the fact I did not want to be guessing power figures and not be able to back them up, although I was only 2hp out! Lol
This was on the same rollers that my (then) standard 2.0TDi Jetta made 132hp, I don't fluff any figures as it's really only for my reference that I put it on anyway, plus the fact the Dyno was booked and the customer let me down! I could fit a larger turbo and get another 20hp without changing anything else but I’m happy as it is.
This is the maximum the standard turbo will push out, I'm running 1psi more than anyone says I should and I only get a whiff of smoke during spool. The van has covered about 10k in this state of tune and about 5k before that with just the injectors and no Re-map. I drive it hard and nothing has let go so far, regular oil changes (6-8k) and letting it warm up/cool down are critical!
The picture is a little out of date but I’ve only cleaned it once for these so I'll not be taking any more soon, lol
I'll get an engine bay pic when I actually clean it, someone lit a fire next to my van and all the ash is still under the bonnet, lol
Spec List:
ALH TDI Engine (90BHP)
Transporter T4 151PS ‘764’ Injectors
Garrett GT1749V Turbo (Standard)
PD130 Inlet with Race Pipe
3 Bar MAP Sensor
Fabia vRS TIP Setup
Modded Airbox
De-Cat Downpipe
2 ¼” Stainless Exhaust System
PD150 Oil Cooler Heat Exchanger
Custom Hockey Puck Front engine mount
G60 Flywheel and Sachs VR6 Clutch
Socketed ECU with EGR and MAF Delete Tune by DarksideDevelopments
G60 Calipers with Braided Hoses
Black Diamond Predator Pads
280mm Drilled Discs
16” Ibiza Cupra Mk3 Wheels with 195/45 Tyres
Ibiza Cupra R Bilstein/H&R Front Suspension
Ibiza Cupra 23mm Anti Roll Bar
TT solid rear wishbone bush
Flipped axle
Custom Spring Shackles to raise back up 25mm
Custom GAZ Adjustable Rear Shocks
Full Geometry Setup @ VW Dealership
Mk3 VR6 Highline Leather Heated Seats
Black Interior Trim and Carpet
Ibiza Cupra Mk2 GTi Splitter
Polo Wing Mirrors
Clear Side Repeaters and Indicators
The next mods I think I’ll be doing is a rear anti roll bar and maybe fit some airbags to the rear axle as it likes to scrub when I’ve got more than 2 engines in the back! Ideally it needs painting too!
I'm also looking for an 08 onwards Mk3 Caddy DSG to have a play with, I'll be putting a GTB turbo on there and some other tasty mods for 200+ hp and handling to match.
Thanks for looking!

Thanks, It's going to be a tough act to follow for my next Van but we'll see! It wiped the smirk off a Boxster owners face even with a 6 speed conversion in the back, lol!

Torque's that thing that breaks your clutch lol
Also load your car up and it still goes like a train, the amount of balls your motor has etc, that's what I think it is anyway.

Thanks guys, I never even saw these replies!! It does the job it's intended to do, i bet it's had more than 80 6 speed conversions in the back and countless engines! haha
I'm getting a Mk3 caddy shortly but i wont be selling this, it has 150k miles now and i want to do more than 200,000 before i sell it!!

Ah right. I was having a nosey at one the other day - they look different to the ones found on other cars. Narrower, but longer. I suppose volume and surface area isn't much different though. I take it heat soak's not an issue?
Sorry for the slight hijack. Good power and torque from the VNT15 though!
Ash
