Poll: What oil are you using in your PD TDI?
I have read, and read, and read all of the posts about recommended oils, oils that are good to use, great to use, not approved oils that are still great, etc. The bottom line is this, what oil are you using right now in your PD TDI?

Recently switched to M1 TDT, and already stocked up for next 2 oil changes with TDT too. Most likely stick with that going forward.
Switched to TDT after using Pento HP2 5w40.

I voted "Lubro moly" when in fact I'm using "Liqui Moly".

Everytime you post a picture with PhotoBucket, a TDI gets below 30MPG.

Fuel Economy: Much better than the average car... :o)
|
Pentosin HP2 5w40 505.01 Been using it since 57k (balance shaft conversion) and I currently have 95k on mine. Before that my car had a fairly long diet of the old Castrol TXT 5w40 and a couple of changes on the 5w30 Castrol Professional OE. In fact I just changed my oil this past weekend. Took a sample but have yet to send it in. I went 9200 miles this time. Most of the time I change at 8000 miles.

50/50 Valvoline 5w40 and 20w50. Next OCI will be 20w50 for the hottest months. The 5w40 has 505.01 approval and 20w50 states meets the requirements of 505.01- FWIW.

This is what I use at the minute;
SLX PROFESSIONAL LLIII POWERFLOW
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Castrol SLX Professional LLIII Powerflow has been developed with “Clean Performance
Technology” in co-operation with the VW Group which sets new standards in the industry.
Castrol SLX Professional LLIII Powerflow has been specifically co engineered with VW to ensure
cleanliness of the engine, thereby reducing harmful emissions which damage the environment.
Through “Clean Performance Technology”
Castrol SLX Professional LLIII Powerflow reduces long
term blocking of particulate filters thereby prolonging the life of the diesel particulate filter.
PRODUCT APPLICATION
Castrol SLX Professional LLIII Powerflow
is a SAE 5W-30 engine oil and is equally suitable for
gasoline and diesel vehicles where performance specifications VW 504 00 or 507 00 are demanded.
The lubricant also meets the requirements of most of the previous VW oil specifications making it
suitable for most older gasoline and diesel engines.
Castrol SLX Professional LLIII Powerflow
employs synthetic base oils in combination with a new
antiwear technology which offers strong protection for today’s sophisticated FSI, TDI and
turbocharged engines.
PRODUCT FEATURES & BENEFITS
• A cleaner particulate filter maintains engine performance.
• Protects the engine from wear all year round.
• Optimises engine performance.
• Maintains fuel economy.
• Reduces environmental impact through lower emissions.
