Just turned 480,000 miles this morning on the way to work. Last month was note worthy, when I turned 477,800 miles I completed my round trip from Earth to the Moon. Now thats a road trip!

I officially turned 400k last month.

I have owned this car since 2004, and i have only had one serious breakdown - it just recently left me stranded at home due to an electrical problem in the ignition circuit.

I'm catching you, only about 10K behind.....

My next picture is 434,960 miles (700,000 Km) and I usually take them every 5K anyway. I change the car badges every 50K, so sometime this October I'll be changing them again.

this thread saddens me.... however the 2003 jetta will live on in the 5 speed swap happening in 2 weeks and a back up engine should i ever need it.....

Some of you were asking... had a run in with freezing rain a few months back: http://forums.tdiclub.com/showthread.php?t=378941

My wife's 2001 auto is on its last legs so i took her car (she now only drive a couple of miles a day) as my project and she got the new-er Subaru. Bruce (paramedick) and Eric came and stripped it down to the bone before hauling it off to the junkyard. The 2001 is gonna be pretty sweet, new tires, Koni reds, 5 speed swap, and the injectors from my old car will be making this one into a nice workhorse for years to come!

Well the old auto tranny is running strong. I drive 190 miles a day to work and back. I bought it with 145,000 on it in 2008. I do as much work on it as I can. Like all fluid changes, all suspension work, control arms, ball joints, inner and outer tie rods and all brakes. I do drive to Kentucky to let Bruce and Eric do the timing belt and advise me on what else needs to be done or what will need to be done soon.

I'm not sure what's more impressive, your high mileage VW or the fact you do a 190 mile commute a day! How long does that take you?
