Default Climatronic to Golf III tdii

I have a Golf III stationcar 81 kW tdi with manual A/C. I am thinking of retrofitting a climatronic system (original VW). Is there anyone out there with some experience on this topic.
Some cables will have to be reconfigured and a few sensors placed and wired. But is a complete rebuild of the heating system required? (in terms of servo motors to be placed in several locations in the heating system.
Basically, is is worth doing the conversion?

Thanks and regards,
