Default Fault Code P0118

Got a check engine light today. My Scan Gauge II picked up P0118. Anyone know what that is for? Hopefully it's not something ugly !

The Scan Gauge II cleared it, for now.

Good morning,

I believe this issue has been adressed in some other threads. After doing a quick Ross Tech Wiki lookup on the code, I am certain I have seen this addressed on this site. Here is the link to the wiki: http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index...2/P0118/000280

I always get the Po118 whenever I unplug the harness from the CTS(coolant temperature sensor).

I reset/cleared it with the Scan Guage II and it hasn't come back. Don't know why it popped up in the first place. Maybe just because it is a VW ?

the issue is fairly common. Order and replace the sensor the next time the fault comes up

If you have the black one, chances are, it is on the way out.
