ahu with vnt17 tuning???

99 audi a4 ahu, 02 dmax twin turbo
any insight on tuning??

i'm putting an ahu into a b5 audi a4 with a vnt17 turbo.


from what i have read the n75 tables need to be changed to AFN tables to correctly work the n75 with the vnt 17. any info on this would be great


planning on going rocketchip

which level should i go with? / how much whp can i expect?

other supporting mods include:

pp520's
large front mount
2.5" intercooler and intake piping
lift pump at 7psi
2.5" mandrel exhaust no mufflers
custom intake manifold
no egr

RC has the firmware update for your project. I have it in my car. You can even run 3 bar now.

all good mods and rc should get the most out of the pp520s but my pennys worth would be to go with pp764s or r520s , i noticed a big difference in performance with more fuel and raised boost on the vnt 17 switching from pp520s to r520s

struikie, did you already found the cause why your engine didn't want to make the power back then?

I have now afn with VC and haves the same problem as you had, doesn't want to make much pwoer after 3000rpm

the liftpump made a huge difference... so did the 11mm 038style IP...
I used the AHH bracket to switch from 028 (10/12mm) to 038 pump (full 11mm)...
made a 8 to 10 pin harness...

hmm but I guess I should be able to run at least 190hp with 10mm IP and R520, liftpump is the same one as I had on the vnt20 afn engine so that isn't the problem either

before 11mm IP and liftpump it dynoed 185bhp... after: 206 with the same chip...
I also have a camshaft Johan had made...

the old IP had the smooth casing...

thing is, the old AHU with 8mm stems and 550.000 made the same power with a asv turbo and only 1.25bar of boost without liftpump and without pd130 intake, now I'm running 1.45bar and can only inject same amount of fuel after 3000rpm, so it's only running around 180ish hp.. :/

how does the AFN cam compare to the ASV one?

just call Johan... he knows exactly what he did to my AHU :p
