VW dropped the old link when it updated its website. Now its 'Clean diesel.' I went and updated all the links in this thread.

Mmm, yeah. Methinks VW is pulling most of their TDI sites down.

Trouble? None. That appears to be a great price. My only concern would be where you live. If you live in a non emissions check state and I wanted one that would appear to be a great buy.

Is there any relationship between the emissions software controversy and HPFP failures?

VW pulled the Tdis off their site. Dealers were told to do it as well. Not all have cleaned up their sites.

The bigger question is: why? It seems kind of pointless . . .

Because they are no longer for sale seems like a big point...

Neither are most new items that have not hit the streets yet, so that point is irrelevant . . . it's not like they were taking online orders. I just see it as feeding the nuts who are hysterically fearmongering about things that nobody has said will happen . . .

Curious as to why the software did not affect the Toureg and it's still shown on the VW.com site and seen on dealers websites.

I would have thought that bigger vehicle would have had the same software enhancement as the rest of them.

(note: I'm a software developer, we don't call them bugs....just undocumented enhancements)

The answer you seek is in the big giant thread. IIRC the bigger engines don't have to work as hard and don't produce as high temps and hence lower Nitric Oxides.
