Default My own spring clean out - MAFs, turbo manifold, etc...

Alright, I'm finally starting to clear out some of these boxes of stuff I have sorted out and set aside. So, I'll post up some stuff and probably add more as I go.

This is a 3" ATP MAF housing that I had on my car for a while. The current version of this goes for $125. I'm asking $75 obo. It comes with the MAF element but the plug is kind of broken and I'm not sure how good it is. You could just swap your MAF element in.

This is a new PD150 MAF. I have my doubts that it's actually a Bosch unit, but you can always swap in your MAF element. The housing looks pretty nice. I'm asking $60 obo.

I got this manifold a while back hoping it would fit my car, but it won't clear the mk3 motor mount. Another option became available though that fit my particular car better. This is designed for a top-mounted turbo and I think it should fit either a MK1 or a MK4 just fine. I also noticed that it would need a spacer to work with my GT2359V because the compressor housing interfered with one of the tubes, but if you're using a smaller turbo then it might not be an issue. There's two NPT bungs for EGT/EMP probes. I'm asking $650 obo.

This is a turbo city turbo "repair kit" which has all of the seals and bearing stuff that you're supposed to replace in a turbo. The application list thing shows this fits "Volkswagen Golf, Jetta, Rabbit, Quantum '82-'85 1.6L Diesel" and a few other vehicles with T3 turbos. The box is still unopened. Turbo City currently wants $90.29 for this kit, I'm asking $50 obo.

This is a TDI cam plate from a 1Z/AHU engine. I was going to use it to make an M-TDI pump but never got around to it. $25 obo.

Next post....

I replaced my shifter with a BMP one so I don't need this but I figured someone else might want to use it as a base for a custom short shifter....or maybe a super long rat stylze skull shifter... $10 obo.

This is the shifter cable bracket that bolts to the top of a 5 speed trans. I had to replace it to use the 5 speed shifter/box/cables with the 6 speed. $10 obo.

2 MK3 passenger side airbag covers - $20 each (I have airbags too if someone needs them).

Misc pump spocket. I think this is from an AHU, but I'll have to double check. The part number stamped on it is 028 130 111 A. $20 obo.

Mike,
For the sake of me not having to do any research, what's the difference between that MAF housing and a ALH stocker?
What the difference in diameters, and do one need a different airbox top to use it?

Which one? The PD150 MAF is about a 3" OD, but a smaller ID and fits with the VR6 airbox top (I think)...the aluminum MAF housing is just thin wall aluminum tube but a little larger ID. It's probably better if you have a custom inlet tube and filter setup.

I initally menat the PD150 MAF/housing, but now i guess i'm also curious about the alum one...
Do you have any opinion of the MAF's functionality when the plastic grid is not used to "straighten" the flow through the MAF housing?
Ever tuned one like this and had any issues with wierd MAF values? Or did everything work out just fine?

The flow straighteners are probably a good thing for MAF accuracy, but it seemed to work fine on my car.
