09 TDI tuning (chipexpress)
Hello,
New to the site. It doesn't seem there is to much out there for the CR engine. So I came across this outfit in the UK and it seems as they may have the best product out there according to their claims.
http://www.chipexpress.com/products/...uning-box.html
I have looked at ABT, MTM, Upsolute, diesel power. ABT and MTM are too expensive around 1000 euros, Upsolute was reasonable at 400 euros, diesel power was a bit more than the chip express and less power.
so just wondering if people here had any experience with chip express.
thanks,
Clint

contacted chip express
interesting company. contacted them to see if this tuning box works with US CR'S and was told yes. what i have a hard time with is that they are claiming twice the hp increases of other respected tuners on our site (for a tuning box not flash) and more than 20% increase in torque. is it possible that a tuner could produce a box with that much more performance gains? these gains almost match those quoted for a ecu flash. by the way they are very responsive to email. i will leave a copy of a return email from chipexpress below. would like to hear from vets on their thoughts on this product.
Hello Bruce...
Your car dyno proves your car is in good health.
This is the link to the system you require:
http://www.chipexpress.com/products/cars/vw/jetta-v/2.0-tdi/diesel-chip-tuning-box.html
select
the 140PS 320Nm variant that uses the CRD 8.1 CDI1 system.
You will be very impressed with the new found drivability and spread of
power. Remember the after figures are what we supply on, Power adjustments
are easy and can be made in increments, unless you run a larger turbo you
will not reach the MAX figure without smoke. On a higher setting expect
something in-between After and MAX figures.
It would be good to see an after dyno run now you have before results.
Kind regards,
Peter @ ChipExpress.com

Yeah Peter is very responsive to emails. I am a bit cautious to since it seems an absolute bargain for powere compared to what else is out there. The website is professional and Peter seems professional, plus all this outfit does is tunes diesels vs. the ones that do both gassers and diesels. Any pros and cons with a tuner box vs. a ecu reflash? I dont really want to void my warrranty with a flash and i like the idea of putting it on myself and adjusting power.
I asked him how the power is adjusted and this what he said:
Hello Clint.
The systems are fully digital and fine tuning (adjustment) is done via jumpers on the circuit board. See this image for the an idea on what I mean: http://www.chipexpress.com/images/technology-1.jpg This is easy to do and explained more in the instructions provided. You will be utterly impressed with our system.
