Smile 2006 Jetta TDI Air Filter Change

Hello... I want to replace an air filter on a 2006 Jetta TDI. I see a lot of talk about filter, but can not find step by step instructions and pictures.

Can anyone help?

Phillips screwdriver and 30 seconds. Super easy.

Does you car have 40,000 miles on it?

If so, here goes:

Locate engine air filter box.
Loosen all the phillips head screws on the top of said box.
Remove top of box.
Remove and replace air filter.
Replace lid of box, do not over tighten or strip screws.

Easy, Huh?

Bill

If you omit pertinent info from your question, you cannot reasonably expect a good answer.//Not affiliated with any vendors except as a customer.// Wise people lurk more.// I'm not a guru.// 'I got actual real friends in the real world'-T'sTDI/ If you were the only entry, there wasn't a race.// Grammar and spelling really are important, but I don't claim to be good at it.// Typical drivers can't.

Smile Thank you!

Thanks a lot for the help! Is there an intake somewhere near the front grill that should be cleaned from large debris?

Not to come across as rude or anything, but suggest you ... as a newbie ... read the newbie stickies & DIY articles.

What you are asking is clearly discussed within ,,, and tons of other valuable guides, articles, etc.. I know ... I just finished creating a huge book of them for the grandaughter to study up on.

I would suggest buying a Bentley manual if you are doing work yourself. Then spend alot of time reading it and here. A wealth of info, but you have to find, read and comprhend it all.
