2001 tdi with 72000 miles automatic transmission.She threw code p1562 quantity adjuster upper stop valve.What is it and where would the upper stop valve be? thanks in advance.

Have you replaced your fuel filter recently? I'd start with that... otherwise:
Is the glow-plug light flashing at you? Rough idling ??? (both of those not good news...)

Yes, I replaced it yesterday. No rough idle.

i had that on mine recently due to some work i was doing. i'm pretty sure it means that the ECM is trying to increase the amount of fuel being injected and hit it's max without attaing the proper amount.
are there any other symptoms?

And this often happens after you introduce air bubbles when changing the filter.
Get the air out, clear the code, and hope it does not come back.
