This is a month by month competition. Every time you make an entry it will be added up and recorded together according to the fuel type and car/year you are driving.
THIS IS NOT an individual tank competition (or a partial tank competition for that matter).

Entries will be accepted until July 5, but remember, report tanks FILLED IN June.

Entry Format:
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Driver:
Miles:
Gallons:
Model Year:
Model:
Tranny:
Fuel Type:

You are allowed to put more than one fill up in a post, so long as each fill up conforms to format.

MPG: (optional since I will calculate it automatically anyway)
(anything else you would like to add)
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Hint on entering your data - after the colon ( ":") put a space.

US GALLONS AND MILES

TRANNY TYPES:
(x) A = x speed automatic
(x) M = x speed manual *
DSG = direct-shift gearbox
CVT = continuously variable transmission
* if you have swapped in a taller 5th gear please noted this (ie: 5M w/.681)

FUEL TYPES:
Bx = biodiesel - x is the percentage of bio
Biodiesel use equal to, or more than B20, will be indicated in GREEN.
ULSD / LSD / D2 = normal petroleum based diesel
Also please note if it's winterized

- please note if you are using a fuel additive (ie: ULSD +PS)
- - Power Service (PS); Stanadyne (ST); Redline (RL)

Posts not in format will not be tallied / corrected

This was 3 partial and 1 nearly complete fill-up on a trip from Phoenix to Tulsa and back over the weekend. I don't have the individual receipts anymore, so I don't remember which tanks were on the 31st and which were on the 1st, so I'm posting them all here.

Wild trip, that was. Spent 36 out of 46 hours driving, getting a friend back to her hometown so she could have surgery. Her two dogs and a delicate dollhouse prevented me from putting her on a plane. Riding with her was much more pleasurable anyway. :D

Not too bad for lots of 75-80mph cruising with the A/C on in near-100-degree heat. I would have loved to take my time and milk some MPGs out of it, but I had to get back for work Monday.

well, this is what happens when I upsized to 17" rims with sticky Z rated tires. Also contributing is the fact that I am running A/C a good bit and was in more than my normal amount of stop-and-go traffic this tank. I plan to give it about 5 tanks before I can accurately figure out how much this has affected my FE. :(

Great now I do have a chance! I'm up on my current tank, I mostly find it hard to drive nice for a whole 670 miles.

50 Mile one way commute, almost all freeway driving about the speed limit. Slower when courtious and safe. Occasional engine off and neutral coasting, keeping momentum, traffic buffer etc. Nothing too radical and nothing dangerous. Just enjoying the ride.

200 hwy miles @ 65, 600 commuter miles, 20 each way, 70% stop and go hwy (45mph ave), 30% city. Did not get the car to engage turbo once (probably a bad idea) .. after the fillup WOT smoked out half the street...

This was my first time EVER in the 800mile and 50mpg club. I've been waiting and waiting and waiting for this to happen. Changing my driving habits plus Michigan fuel helped. Now I want to do it back to back ... 700 mile road trip this weekend.... wish me luck!

Wow - I guess my 17" VV wheels do make a difference. My lifetime of 42.9 now looks very good. In the last 16k I have a average of 43.4. As far as A/C its pretty much a fact of life here. A/C has been fulltime last 3 tanks and 42.5 is about it. I am driving 50 whenever traffic permits.

First tank was my usual driving with AC off, lots of p&g, @ 50- 60 mph.

Second tank was AC on, w/o p&g, @ 80-100 mph and ½ h stopped in traffic.

Third tank was AC on, w/o p&g, suburban driving and no key off at stop lights.

Edit: this month is going to be hard to be at the top.

My first June tank.

Driver: MikeMars
Miles: 905.6 miles
Gallons: 16.241 (61.48 litres = 13.524 imp gallons)
Model Year: 2000 (early)
Model: Passat 1.9TDi 115hp PD
Tranny: Manual 5-gear
Fuel Type: ULSD

A poor tank compared to the last few - windy, rainy, and a rough journey which started at 85mph for 50 miles and finished travelling at less than walking pace for half an hour. But forced it to be another 900 mile tank by going further into the reserve than I am usually prepared to risk. Trip computer claims 66.6 imperial mpg, and the reserve light came on at 833.5 miles. Another tank using P&G.

Trip computer's mpg estimate may be inaccurate this tank because I reset the wrong trip computer by mistake at the start of the tank, but the miles figure is taken from the other trip counter and therefore will be correct.

The weather was warm, but often windy and rainy, between 12 and 24 centigrade.

Incidentally this tank cost £ 79.86, which is about $ 160. 129.9 pence per litre which is roughly $ 9.83 per us gallon?

696.5 miles most miles on a tank for me! I almost drove around to hit 700 but Diesel is expensive! Most miles at 70MPH real.

Amazing, I broke 900! I was so used to getting 680 a tank, with the occasional 720-740 that I didn't think 800 was even possible. Long road trip helped. Now I have to try for 1000 someday (next road trip).

I love this car!
