This is a month by month record of mileage. Every time you make an entry it will be added up and recorded together according to the fuel type and car/year you are driving.
THIS IS NOT intended to be an individual tank record (or a partial tank record for that matter). So if you want to wait and post all of your tanks in MAY at once, it would be greatly appreciated . Multiple tanks per posting acceptable as long as all are in exact format. One tank at a time is also acceptable. If you are going to report on different days - do not go back and edit a previous post - just put it in as a new one.

Entries will be accepted until JUNE 5th, but remember, report tanks FILLED IN MAY ONLY .

Posts not in format will not be tallied / corrected

Entry Format:
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Driver:
Miles:
Gallons:
Model Year:
Model:
Tranny:
Fuel Type:

(anything else you would like to add)
--------------------------------------------------------------------

US GALLONS AND MILES

TRANNY TYPES:
(x) A = x speed automatic
(x) M = x speed manual *
DSG = direct-shift gearbox
CVT = continuously variable transmission
* if you have swapped in a taller 5th gear please note this (ie: 5M w/.681)

FUEL TYPES:
Bx = biodiesel - x is the percentage of bio
ULSD / LSD / D2 = normal petroleum based diesel
- please note if you are using a fuel additive (ie: ULSD +PS)
- - Power Service (PS); Stanadyne (ST); Redline (RL)

47.9 MPG, all highway with a few stops, cruise set at 65 mpg or less, some areas too hilly and cruvy to use cruise, tires at 38 psi, no air. I think this is about the best I am going to do with this car. I overtook a Wal-Mart truck and an empty school bus. Everyone else was going faster including 4 Priuses who were flying at 85 to 90 mph (whassup with that?).

Tank mpg: 50.47

This was a tank of firsts for me: My first tank over 1,200 miles, my first mpg over 50 with this car, my first fill-up over $100 ($4.309/g = $102.85), and the first time I've ever had to run my card twice to complete a fill-up after it shut off at $100:mad: .

48.28mpg.
Typical DC commuting.
Another premature fillup due to expected price increase.

My fuel saving measures are apparently working, as I normally get 42-43 in spring.

Trip computer claims 67.2 imperial mpg. Note that the previous tank was a short-fill, so calculating from the fuel used will produce a low figure (combining with previous tank(s) will produce the most accurate figure).

During the first and last third of the tank the weather was warmer and traffic not a big problem, but the middle third was cold and had bad traffic. The last 37 miles were added by the Garage during a major service / MOT test today, they did 50 imperial mpg at an average of 18 miles per hour (just over two hours). I have no idea whether this was in London, or a rolling road, or what. I don't know when the reserve light came on, it was off before I dropped it off at the garage, and on when I got it back.

Incidentally this tank cost £ 66.41, which is about $ 132. 118.9 pence per litre.

Up I75 from Atlanta through Chattanooga and Knoxville in the rain at 80mph. Back down through the Smokies on the back roads. One trip, one tank, many jelaous SUVs.

The cleaned out EGR, and a return to conservative driving. The car hauls ass again but......I must restrain myself.

WOOHOO! I raised my 5-tank average back up to 50.5 with this last tank. I'm a happy camper. Now, if I can just catch the favorable traffic conditions that I did last tank, I can keep it up. Surprisingly, I had to do my normal-time (8-5) commute for most of the work-days during this tank. I just happened to catch a break on traffic. Or maybe the snowbirds are leaving. :p

I commute almost 100 miles/day almost exclusively freeway, driving about or a bit slower than posted limit as traffic changes. Moderate fuel conservation methods like slower speed, rolling in N, engine off in a few safe conditions, I leave plenty of buffer space to the car ahead and no hard and heavy accelerations. I'm extremely light on it during warmup. I watch my fuel consumption gauge and don't draft trucks, don't P&G or other laborious/dangerous/discourtious tasks.

Just enjoying the drive with economy on my mind.

This last tank was my last best effort before my recently installed .658 5th gear. I installed the 5th gear at 826 miles and filled up at 833.2 miles, so I have 7.2 miles on the 5th gear on this tank.

I filled up this morning and continued to drive the speed limits, so my next tank should show how much of an increase in mpg I achieve.
