Default Oil collection

Hey incase yall have not heard yet I caught the person who was taking my two drums of oil. It was griffin industries. After a firm conversation with the driver he returned it but I did warm him not to do this type of thing, exspecially since his companie is the one wining to the media about theft from their dumpsters. The restuarant owners said they will call at around 3/4 full from now on so i dont get ripped off.

Get out there and find sources there are new places opening daily.

Man that pretty ballsy! I've got my small source from a restaurant and I'm working on a chinese buffet place here in Muncie near campus.

I'm getting the feeling our next GTG should be focused on the production of biodiesel and the formation of CO-OP. Will send out email for feelings.

I agree. I think that prices are only going to get worse, there is no time like right now to get everyone educated!

Heard back from Bill and June is not good for him as he will be out of town. Once he's back he's more than glad to host a get together.

But in the mean time how about we get together and get some fundamentals covered and get folks introduced to making some BioD? Would sooner be better than later? Like June 7 or 8th? If those either of dates sound good I guess I could host the GTG at my house, since I have my set up at hand.

Will send out another email to group to get some feedback. Does this forum allow for polls or voting?

I'm not going to vote becauseI have no preference. That is the weekend before my wedding and I'm not sure I'll be able to get away. You guys pick something and if I can make it, I will. If I don't make it, it will be august before I have a free weekend!

Well just finished making my first successful 3 gallon batch of biodiesel. Started Friday night and washed Saturday evening. Looks like it should be ready for the tank by day's end Monday.

Going to start another 3 gallon batch using oil that's from my 55 gallon collection drum. Heated it up Saturday night to boil off any possible water, which it hardly crackled at all. Figure to start making it around noon and if all goes well it should be ready by Tuesday. I'll try and take some pictures or video of the process.

Well looks like the 7th is going to be the winner. Maybe we can throw in tree removal as a extra bonus, bring your chainsaws!

Aaaaand the the votes are in! Hmmm...wish the primaries were this simple.

So, June 7th at 10am to 3pm at my house. Email with directions will be going out.

Today 3 gallons of homebrewed biodiesel went into my tank. IT LIKED IT! After about 10 minutes of driving seemed the engine was running smoother and quieter. Running about a B50-B70 mix. Tomorrow's commute will give me a better feel of how it's going.

Take Care!
