I'm new here and hopefully I have an easy question. I have a 2006 tdi jetta and I just did my 10,000 mile oil change and service. How do I now reset the the wrench service light on my dash? The dealer wants 275.00 to reset it and I used a few colorful words that meant no! My dash display only has a trip meter only, nothing fancy. Thanks, Ed.

Reset Service Indicator.

With ignition off press and hold the mileage reset button. Turn on the ignition while holding the button in and reach over and push the minute button on the clock. That should reset your service reminder.

$275, for doing that! I believe it, if it came from the dealer's mouth!

They quoted $1500 to replace the timing belt on my mother's '00 Jetta TDI. I think she used a few colorful words to say "NO" as well, then asked me to do it!
