Hi there,

I think Phil wired using the discussed connections, but I'd like to confirm that the T15/3 will be my signal wire for the DWA - CCM 1C0 959 799 C.

Do you guys use diodes to protect the CCM?

TIA.

Indeed, I connected as diagrammed by Madelgado, and described by lito.

However, I didn't reuse the existing run from the horn to the CCM. Instead, I ran two wires from the DWA Siren to the CCM. One to T15/3, the other to power (T15/12 was it?).

Then for ground, I just used a ground point directly beneath the water deflector and in front of the ECU.

I did not use a Diode on T15/3. My CCM is also 1C0 959 799 C, 2003 Jetta w/ Power Windows.

Did you get the new siren yet?

Here's a question for you Madelgado...

Can we change the horn beep to give two chirps when locking, and 1 when unlocking rather than the other way around?

I’m trying to get my DWA siren to work in my 2003 Golf. I have the 1C0 959 799C CCM.

I moved the CCM wire from T15/11 to T15/3 using a small 000 979 131 wire scavenged from my old ipod adapter.

This was connected to pin 1 on the DWA connector.
I get approx 10.6volts continuously on this wire, dips down in the high 8s when it should be chirping. I'm not sure if this is normal.

Pin 2 went to ground, and Pin 3 was connected to constant 12v for testing purposes.

I then changed the bits at addresses 4367, 4368 and 4369 to 112.

No Siren.

Then I read that interior monitoring may need to be enabled, so I want to 4355, 4356 and 4357 (Original value 4) and changed this to 12.

CCM Channel 15 Measuring Block 2 Interior Value = No
CCM Channel 15 Measuring Block 3 Disconnect Switch Value = Off

Still no Chirping.

Anyone have any ideas?

First thing I'll try on Sunday is to use 120 like Phil did.

What is the part number of the siren? it should be 1J0 951 605 or 1J0 951 605 A.

I am not sure that you have to enable interior monitoring... I think that it is independent.

This is the waveform of lin-bus signal... so it makes sense that it is below 12 volts DC:

http://www.picotech.com/auto/waveforms/lin_bus.html

The pin closed to the rounded edge of the siren connector is +12 (pin 3), the middle one (2) is ground and the remaining is LIN-BUS.

What did you have originally in the address 4367-4368-4369? Probably one of these: 255, 32, 64 or 96.

Another question: did the normal horn stop working? If so, then it is a good sign.

About your question, I do not really know if the CCM is so much configurable... maybe yes and many of the unknown bits control how much time the dome lights remain on, or the number of chirps... who knows (well, maybe siemens people ;-) ) I know about some features that you can configure, but I did not found the bits yet for 1C0 CCM... such as the speed for auto-lock or to open all doors when releasing the lock of any single door (like mercedes) That small black box is a whole world inside, ufff

I tried 120, no luck there.

My Siren is 1K0 951 605A and I also tried a 1K0 951 605C

I originally had 96 at 4367-4368 and 4369. I had my siren setup as UK before I started fooling with the car.

The normal horn stopped working, the DWA never worked. I temporarily renabled the old horn inputting 96 into the addresses.

Lito and Phil, can you confirm that you have the MK5 siren in the picture on Page 3 of this thread 1K0 951 605...or do you have the egg shaped MK4 one 1J0 951 605.

Thanks

I bought the one shown in ETKA for an 03 Bora, which is 1J0 951 605 A.

It does look exactly like the one shown on page 3 in this thread.

Tonight, I'll double check that part number against the box it came in, if I still have it.

Oh no. Looks like I got the wrong one for the MK4's. I guess the LinBus data is different between the MK4 and the MK5 because I didn't get a single tweet out of the 1K0 in my 2003.

Just updated the post in page 3 so it does clarify that 1K0 siren will not work for 1J0 or 1C0 CCMs. Sorry because it was my fault... I just thought that both sirens would implement the same LIN-BUS protocol... My fault, sorry :-(

No problem, just find me the memory addresses that have to be modified so I can sell these to MK5 owners. LOL.

Just checked my original receipt from Mahag VW in Munich, and the packaging the siren came in.

The sirens I bought for both myself and Lito were definitely 1J0 951 605 A.

Sorry :-(

Minor setback, I don't think anyone will make that mistake in the future.
