MPG: 47.09

first tank after the ventectomy, mark me down for the 700 club, woo hoo!!!1 had to switch off the B100 b/c it's starting to get cold around here. the first 400 miles were on a trip from Omaha to Grinnell w/ no stops at about 65mph. then the rest of the tank was city driving, to/from work. i didn't notice much difference between the B100 and this B20, i'll keep checking it out.

This was actually 2 fills in on day. The first fill foamed right away it took me 20 minutes to fill. The pump kept shutting off. When I thought I was finished, I ran the numbers and came up with 60+ MPG. Needless to say I know I didn't do 60 MPGs, so I filled up on my way home. All this to keep it accurate.

Thats driving city/hwy and not being careful. Usually around 65 to 70 mph on the hwy. Last one was being careful and slow, slow, slow (around 55 mph hwy) and only got 46.7 mpg. I think I will keep my normal driving habits and live with the 44 mpg. Not much difference between the two driving styles.

Two weeks of a 11 miles each way commute and two 180 mile round trips all at 55-59 indicated plus some in town trips, I certainly wont complain with just under 60 MPG.

Lots of 70 to 75 MPH highway, with some 30 to 50 MPH suburban driving.

This is my third tank of ULSD...no drop in mileage that cannot be attributed to speed, A/C usage or outside temp.

MPG = 39.1 :(

My first entry. 60/40 hwy/city with lots of rush hour. When on the highway I used cruise around 63 mph. Also I used the TIP on this tank,resulting in me taking the rpms up a whole bunch. It should be higher next time without all the speeding up the on ramps.

Your driving sounds like mine for the most part - and your mileage/speeds are similar. Was this difficult to do? This is what I would expect for mileage - good job!

I'm pretty used to driving 55-60 indicated on 65mph speed limit roads. My commute is 11 miles from west side of Milwaukee to Waukesha and Im sure some ppl arent happy with my "slow" driving on I94 everymorning. I see you're in the area if you see a TDI holding up traffic in the Milwaukee area wave it might be me.

I work in Waukesha too - probably won't see you as I don't drive I-94 much and if I do, we're likely traveling the same speed;). At least I'm not the only one around here who understands that if you drive 50 MPH or 80 MPH to the Zoo, Marquette or by the airport, that you will end up sitting in traffic just the same.

Happy TDI'ing!

Same driving style, just over 10 miles to and from work. Wasn’t that you that passed me right by the zoo on Friday ;) I forgot how fast people drive down there. I went 65 mph indicated on 43 down and back, 62 mph by the GPS. I only had to pass two people, on was a truck pulling a house and the other was a older 80+ gentleman varying speed from 50 to 70 as he drove ;)

i call it the 120 rule

80mph=40mpg
70mph=50mpg
60mph=60mpg
50mph=70mpg

oh, and the current leaderboard has been updated.

Most of this mileage was done at 65mph, about 2200rpm including a 245 mile one way, almost non-stop round trip. My Golf is stock but has a new MAF that really improved performance! I now like my TDI even better!!

Hmmmm...I think these tires are definitely making a difference...my 3-tank average is up to 50.6MPG, despite worse traffic. I discount the cooling weather somewhat because I never use A/C anyway, and I didn't see any positive effect from the cooler weather last year.

The scary thing is that I'm getting 50+ with a setup (PP520s/RC2) that smokes a bit on cold start and at any heavy application of throttle (my fault, though...not Jeff's or Charlie's). I'll have to try the Kerma sensor mod and see if that helps at all. Once I save up some money, an FMIC is almost a certainty.

Some may remember that on about the last day of September, I posted a 65.8 mpg number, running on 70% biodiesel.

Coming back, my mileage went to garbage. Only explanation I have is the first part (reported here) was on mostly ULSD.
