Hello ladies! (and Gents who are curious) ;)

Lately there has been much discussion about setting up a "Girls of TDIclub" calender as a Fundraiser for the site.... what i want to know is how many ladies of TDIclub are willing to put their best diesels foward and send in a pic for this potentially lucrative fundraiser.

The idea is to get 12 (or more) TDIclub women who are willing to have their photo published in a calender to be posted on the walls of many a TDIclub man's (or woman's) garage, home, or place of diesel destruction to be stared at by many.

Now most of the gentlman of this forum want us to be shown in bikini's and high heels leaning over the hood sucking seductivly on a lolipop,:rolleyes: however, this is a Fundraiser for the club not a playboy centerfold magazine, so no worries! This is to be a TDI chick calendar presented in a tasteful and tactful way so as not to upset anyone and to maintain the integrity of the club. You may submit a photo in any pose you like (within reason - nothing too risque please) as long as you and your TDI are in it!

The criteria is that you have to be a TRUE TDI Chic! In other words: you have to own your own TDI, drive your own TDI, be a member of the Forum and in most cases, do at least some of the maintenance on YOUR TDI on your own! While many of you gentlemen have beautiful women by your sides who drive your car from time to time... if it's not theirs, they are not a member of the club, and they do not maintain their own vehicles, then please keep their photos for your own personal viewing pleasure.

If you're looking as to where to send the photo's you can email them to me: Shalon.fraser@gmail.com.
Please try to email them in the original size. The bigger the resolution the better. I can downsize them to what i need. Thank you!

All of these ladies have officially volunteered for the calendar:

I'm in.

We need to have at least one chick in the "40 and over" category!

Guess this means I need to wash and wax the Jetta so she'll look pretty too-

And talk someone into photog. duties.

Can I have January? It's my B-day month.

I can't guarantee anything on month designations... lildev and i have already been duking it out for May (both our b-days).

Joseph has already agreed to take pics for the east coast ladies. Is there anyone who's willing to volunteer for the west coast or any other areas?

If you get enough girls and thier pics pretty fast. You should try to get it done by TDIFest. That would be a good place to sell them. Or if you dont have them yet. You could take pre-orders there, and maybe take pics of the girls with their cars at the fest.

So it would be a 2007 calendar?
Yes, i hope so.

TDIfest would be a WONDERFUL place to get lady pic's and to take pre-oders. :D

Edit!: We're hoping to have the calendar made up by TDIfest and selling well!

Wel'll see what happens ;)

First off find a place that makes calenders and get a quote on how much they would be.

In my brief search (less than an hour) calendars are going to be about $10 to have someone else make them (and that was usually with an order of 200.) If anyone would be willing to do a working party and assemble calendars, it would be much much cheaper to go through a photo printing service (such as snapfish or whatever other companies there are.)

I *think* Costco also had a calendar option; I'll check the next time I'm over there (which most likely won't be anytime soon.)

I know it's a bit unconventional, but if you want to sell the calendars in early September, why not do a 1-year calendar starting in Sept. '06? That would give people an incentive to purchase the next TDI calendar a year later (positive thinking, eh), a few months before people are thinking about getting another 'conventional' calendar.

The other possibility would be a 16-month calendar starting in Sept. '06 and ending December '07.

Just throwing some ideas out there . . .

If this calender is to be ready for TDIfest, then it will most definately be a 16 month calendar! (Setp-Dec) if i can swing it.

I'm not only looking for individual shots but any group photos you may also have of you and some other TDI chic's.

I havn't had too much of a chance to research what production costs are, but from the opportunities that i have had, it will cost anywhere b/w $9-$16 for a 100-200 calendar purchase. I havn't looked into any photo comapnies or anything yet, but my plan is to really sit down and do some serious price and option digging within the next couple days.

feel free to let me know about any great deals you might spot!

Ah. A member of the British Royal Family, Prince William.
Yup! :)

Birthday Prince has a date with a diesel

By David Millward

PRINCE WILLIAM will become the proud owner of a diesel-powered car today, his 17th birthday.

The Prince of Wales has opted for a VW Golf GT TDi for his eldest son, who has already applied for his provisional driving licence. The Golf range varies from the family hatchback to the quicker models, including the GTi.

The Prince of Wales, who was presented with an MG on his 17th birthday, decided that it was a sensible option for his son. The car was chosen on the advice of a family friend, Edward van Cutsem. Even though Prince William is understood to have been keen on the GTi, this was ruled out.

The Prince of Wales, who drives an Aston Martin convertible, also decided that a soft-top would be inappropriate for his son. In choosing this version of the car, he has managed to bridge the gap between performance and ecological sensitivity. Although the car selected by the Prince of Wales has the same 120mph top speed as the GTi, the turbo-diesel version will do 58 miles to the gallon, compared to 35 with the petrol version.

Given the Prince of Wales's concern about the environment, he can take some comfort that the car's green credentials are also good. The TDi is rated in the Top 10 in the league table of low Carbon Dioxide emissions.

The car, which costs £16,325 for the three-door model and £16,945 for five doors, also includes a number of safety and anti-theft features including an alarm, an engine immobiliser and four airbags. Prince William will also have a stereo radio and computerised display-board.

Although nobody was prepared to discuss whether any additional security devices would be fitted, it is likely, given the new owner, to have at least strengthened windows and a satellite tracking system on board. The choice of a German car could attract criticism although Diana, Princess of Wales, did drive an Audi for several years. Prince William, who can ride a motorbike and has driven cars on private land for several years, is said to be looking forward to taking to the road under supervision in the near future.

Unlike his father, he will have to take a written examination as well as a practical test on the roads. Assuming he passes his test, insurance for a young driver behind the wheel of a performance car will be expensive, with one company quoting £2,987 for fully comprehensive cover.

Despite his birthday, the Prince, a pupil at Eton College, will be spending a normal day at school sitting mock exams. He may also spend some time at Windsor Castle, where other members of the Royal Family are staying.

He will also be following a family tradition in owning a fast car. The Duke of York, who started his driving career behind the wheel of a more modest Ford Escort, is also an Aston Martin owner.

The Princess Royal, whose quick driving was also legendary, has owned several Scimitar Sabre models. The Queen, who drove an ambulance during the war, still gets behind the wheel of a Daimler Jaguar saloon or a Vauxhall Estate. Prince Philip has a Range Rover and drives a London taxi for short journeys around town.

Hmmm... are there any other celebrities who own, or have owned, TDIs?

I don't think you're gonna find any in the US, unfortunately.

You *MIGHT* find a celeb that once owned an MBenz diesel, but that's unlikely.

Oh, and am I right in saying that the 1999 GT TDI had the 110bhp AHF engine (think ALH with a better ECU and bigger turbo)?

The woman that Robert Blake killed owned a W123-series 300D Turbodiesel... the tabloids snapped a picture of it after her death. :(

You're welcome. I'm sure there will be others who deserve just as much thanks when this is finally completed.

I will not be on the cover of this calendar as it is NOT MY calendar, it's a calendar meant to show off ALL the ladies. Maybe, if we can get one, the cover will be a groups shot of all the ladies involved. Or a calage of some sort. who knows. It's still yet to be determined!

A stud calendar would be one i would LOVE to hang on my wall, but as it's already been mentioned, it might not have as much demand. However, if someone wants to make a Celebrity stud calendar of all the hot celebs who drive TDI's then YAY! :D (Esp. if prince william is in it!) - *crosses fingers* maybe he'll join the club! :D:D:eek::eek:

Anyhoo. Glad to see i have the support of many. Keep the ideas and VOLUNTEERS coming!

Thanks!! :)

Me. :D I starred in a few of those vidoes available from the CinciTDI group.

I wonder if the prince will be ringing me to change the timing belt when the time comes?

Nah. He'll drop DBW a note for the next time he flys to London. He'll do it right there at the airport.
