Well I will comment on the car. It looks good. Just need to lower it and rocketchip it. By the way, where were those pics taken?

It will have an Upsolute chip, Kerma PP520 injectors and H&R OE springs with Koni FSD struts on it by spring. (Possibly some bigger wheels, depending on how funds go.) I am also working on a "stealth" guage for EGT, Boost, and Oil pressure, which I need before I start getting crazy with the engine.

BTW, the car does look nice. What color, BTW? I can't quite tell whether it's black or some shade of really dark green...

Galactic Blue (according to VW) the paint color is something like Dark Blue Pearl.
It really picks-up other colors around it and usually shows up as black in pictures.

Nice looking car. I like the mileage the pic was taken @. 39999.

How hard was it to install the short shifter??

Thanks, several people have commented on the mileage picture, mainly the gassers with the "435 miles on just over a half tank of gas!!"

The short shifter is really easy (the hard part was pulling the old shifter bracket, but a slide hammer took care of that)
Adjustment was straightforward, if you properly, and fully, follow Dieselgeek's instructions it needs no tweaking.
It was notchy for a week or so, but now I can’t remember the car without it.
It helped most of my shifting grinds, and feels really solid.
Now I am thinking I might need to add the B&M short shifter to reduce throws even more.

Anyone know where there is a 04-05 GLI with a blown engine or transmission?

Radio has been F-ing up for about 3 weeks,
Dealer replaced the Antenna wire, and the radio still said the antenna was disconnected, and the outputs were reported as "Shorted" through VAGTool/VAG-Com, The dealer tested it with another radio and found that everything appeared to work, but put mine broken one back in while they ordered a replacement.
I guess I bumped the power and turned on the radio when I was getting out and it caught fire. Earlier in the evening it had made popping/crackling noises through the speakers when turning it on.

I did manage to put the fireout with a small kitchen B&C (grease electrical) fire extinguisher, I doused the blaze with it and slammed the doors. it was out when the Fire department arrived. (~5-10 min later)

still waiting on insurance to inspect it, then will decide what I am going to do.

uploaded more pics-

Come one now, a little bit of interior work and she will be good as new

On a serious note, glad no one got hurt. I pack my family around and with two in carseats it would be real hard to get everyone out quickly.

More like finish stripping the interior out and make a real race car...
