I had several days of short trips, and some testing of my tranny as I was having low fluid issues after my fluid change. Hopefully, it was a fluke.

The good news: $3.099 per gallon is way better than the $3.50 I paid last fillup.

-------------------------
41.25 mpg at B100 (what was in the tank)

I expect to be in the mountains this weekend, so it's time to start mixing for cold weather. B75/K25 should hopefully carry me down to the low teens.

The interesting question will be if my mileage goes up with this mix, as it looks (from my quick searching) like K1 has a bit more energy per gallon than bio. I'm still taking a hit with winter tires, though.

Vehicle now has 4400 miles and has not been babied as I shift at or above 3000 rpm after its warm. My first long trip, had to go to Fredericksburg VA. I used this opportunity to drive at or below the speed limit to maximize mileage and travelled down and back at night missing the traffic. I run the Conti tires at 43f 40r (max is 51) and have always used PS. Lifetime mileage is 47.9.

Um...you might wanna look at TDIJetta99 and thermographer's numbers again. I think there's something screwy when they use 600+ gallons to go a dozen miles.

Average 46.15 mpg... This was my last tank before the "upgrades". Hopefully I'll be posting some competetive results in a couple weeks.

It looks like I slipped in under the 'few too many drinks' wire. I wish I was getting mid-50's for mileage

Unfortunately, I had to put 16.8 gallons in on my last fill (12.3 of B100, and 4.5 of K1) I find it humorous, though, that a ~35% increase in my actual results doesn't put me out of the range of actual results others are getting. (Time to start looking for some bananas to put in other people's tail pipes)

I thought maybe those two were having a competition to see how much they could tow, and started with Nebraska and went up from there.

BTW, found one of my tires (left front) low again. Took it in and they found a nail in it.
I checked that tire for nails and screws, dagnabbit! Anyway, now that I'm not running one of my drive wheels at 24psi anymore, maybe I'll be able to hit 50 again with my new, improved commute.

Since I had about 1.76 gallons left, does this mean I probably could have made the 900 club? Because I think I could have gotten 1.76 X 54 = 95 miles. Can someone double check my math, and assumption that I would have a tank that is approximately 17 gallons? If this is true I might have to go for it next time. Thanks!

Schwechel I think you would have made it. I can hit 900 on anything over 50mpg. The problem we have now is winter diesel is started up here so you will start the winter mpg drop.

Yeah, I am not looking forward to that. My only question is that my gas light went on at 772 miles, and when I filled up at 828 (50 miles or 1 gallon later) I only filled up 15.25 gallons. Does this mean my light goes on early? Because I should have been able to put in 16 gallons right? I'm just scared of running out of fuel if I try and push it. How hard is it to get these restarted? What do you do? Just put more fuel in the tank and hold the starter until it goes????? I have no idea.
