I had this recall done on my Golf. You have to take it in and they check the actual make of the ABS unit. It's pretty much like Russian roulette. I think there are two different suppliers. My wife got away fine, me however, no. They changed the damn thing, took a couple of hours. No big deal....tell them to do a clean job though. Two months after the fact, I saw oil coming from my belly pan. I thought it was motor oil, or tranny fluid. Those dunces filled the brake fluid to the top and it leaked all over the place. But no big deal.

In case you are unaware,
Brake Fluid = Paint Remover
Wash it away ASAP.
