I have an 04 Beetle TDI GLS.

So, I have had an ongoing problem with my lights. It started with loosing my left rear tail light. The weird thing was, when I would put on my left turn signal, the signal would flash at 2x speed...but all turn signal lights worked. Just the other day I ended up loosing the brake light on the left side and about two nights later, when I would put on my lights and than try to put on my left turn signal, the signal light would stay constantly on...It would not flash, it would just stay constantly illuminated. I have read that some vehicle route a lot of there lighting functions threw the turn signal switch. Does anyone know if this is the case for the beetle? Anyone ever run into a similar situation?

Cheers

This sounds like it might be a bad ground.
There just was a thread about the rear signal lights that mentioned the power bus in the tail light assembly was bad and had to have wires to jump the bad spots.
