Dash lights. ABS, airbag, tire pressure

These lights all came on while I was driving yesterday(2011 golf 2.5) I have an OBD code reader which didn’t get anything when I ran it. I’m not familiar with vcds or vagcom. I know that my reader doesn’t do ABS. I am going to try to take abs sensors loose and clean them. Any other tricks before I start spending money? I don’t have any friends with an analyzer that will read or program what I need here.

I appreciate the advice.

Ok nevermind then. I had similar issue with my old 2011 JSW DSG and those lights meant DSG ecu was failing. But in your case different situation.

I cleaned the speed sensors. The right rear had wear marks on the end of it. Is this indicative of a worm bearing. I’m planning on getting a scan done this weekend

VCDS around $200.

MAC, SNAPON etc $2-5000 + monthly update fees.

VCDS looks pretty affordable to me, and for VW products it will do more than those others.

Yea get VCDS. There are some people selling their unlimited vin VCDS, grab them. Probably cheaper to get it from here. Right now ross-tech no longer sell unlimited vin vcds. I have one. Got it from here from other guy. Am happy with it. VW cant fool me anymore.

Thanks for the info. I will look into it. I had read that cleaning the sensors will solve the problem sometimes, but would take a few days to clear. Few days are up, so on to scanning...

Yea thats the way to go also. Unplug the battery for few hours while you clean those. Old school remedy. Those crazy lights will go away instantly. If comes back on, go scan it.

I didn’t leave it unplugged for more than 10 minutes I think. I’ll try a longer time before going to get it scanned. Sure appreciate all the good advice
