96 Passat. Installed Bosio DLC 520 set up by KermaTDI. After warming up, my Ross-Tech channel 1 shows 10.6 mg/str with a stored value of 87. I've read that 3-5 mg/str is a good range. Increasing the stored value to 132 lowered the mg/str to 6.6 mg/str. The store value won't accept anything higher than 132.
So, am I looking at the wrong thing? Why do some folk talk about 'adaptation numbers' in the 33,000 range?

Along the same lines, I'm reading that changing the adaptation value for block 3 from 32768 to 33768 will reduce the amount of EGR, giving more fresh air instead. My screen doesn't have any numbers in this range. On Channel 3, with a stored value of 128, I get 269.3 mg/str results in a box labeled Mass Air / Rev. Changing to 138 gives 305.9 mg/str. Is this increasing the ratio of fresh air and reducing EGR operation?

I'm heading out for my first test drive while the educated responses pour in. Thanks for any and all comments!

Abacus, thanks for the response. I found plenty of info on the hammer mod as you said. I'll give it a tap.

Also learned that the reason my VCDS numbers are in a different range is the older model ECU. There's a lot of information on these cars, but it takes a while to find it!
