Does the mkiv or mkv Jetta TDI have any emissions controller like an EGR Valve, or DPF?
Crank Case VentWhat is a CCV? Is the EGR prone to clogging and failing or is it necessary?
No worries, I love the smoke from a diesel, and want to find out how to get smoke from the stock engine.Careful any subject pertaining to emissions or saving trees is not allowed here...friggin tree huggers!
FWW We need to be showing the public that diesels are no longer smoky, noisy, smelly engines. We should be trying to convince them that the new generation of engines no longer do any of these things.I love the smoke from a diesel, and want to find out how to get smoke from the stock engine.
Many older diesels smoke a bit. However, one of the main reasons we drive TDIs is for the economy. Smoke = wasted fuel. You get smoke when your fuel/air ratio is too heavy on fuel (not enough air for the amount of fuel injected). A well running diesel will produce very little smoke. If your car puts out much smoke; you either need less fuel or, even better, more boost (maybe a bigger turbo).Mine smokes when the go pedal is too the floor not alot but some. Ya mean it ain't supposed to...?
The A4 with the BEW has an O2 senser too (2004 on). Both have EGR, 3 way catalyst, and closed CCV.
mkv additionally has an oxygen sensor.
mkv + CR (2009-2010) has DPF, CAT, EGR, NOx, additionally
We do not want to promote this sort of environmental irresponsibility here.No worries, I love the smoke from a diesel, and want to find out how to get smoke from the stock engine.
Set it on fire. The smoke you get is amazing. No worries, I love the smoke from a diesel, and want to find out how to get smoke from the stock engine.
