Climatronic Sun Sensor

Since most of the threads on this topic are either missing the original images or contain very blurry images, I am having a hard time finding the answer to this question. I am about to upgrade my MK4 Jetta to Climatronic. Does the sun sensor replace a blank in the defogger vent or do I need a different vent that has a hole for the sun sensor? I haven't started the work yet.

It replaces a blank. I don't even think that vent is a part that you can buy separately from the whole dashboard so be careful that you don't break it. I damaged whatever keeps it clipped into place when I installed Climatronic and now it sticks out of the dash a few mm.
