Discovered this 3/8 drive, torque limited glow plug socket on ID Parts and bought one.

Whether or not you have a torque wrench, this socket is well worth the money so you don't over torque the glow plugs.

I had just installed new glow plugs and hand guesstimated the torque, which I discovered was grossly under estimated.

After several days of driving, each plug was still seated but barely.

Re-torqued with this socket to an automatic 13 ft lbs.

Not sure how the internals work, but there's no way to over torque.

One should own a torque wrench.
A few different ones actually..........

Let's see:
  • Glow plug Torque socket
  • 10 to 250 inch pound (10 to 300 inch pound if you can find one)
  • 10 to 150 foot pound
Most Inch pound torque wrenches do no go down to 11 to 13 Inch pounds accurately. All the suitable torque wrenches I found cost $150+ while the ID Parts tool is only $29.
