Mapquest shortest distance (don't know if the ferry distance is considered): 975 miles, 1,575 km.
However, the distance to the venue has little, if any, bearing on how far I'll end up driving to, or back from, the event.

I had planned on attending this year, but I've also planned out my roadtrip for the same weekend currently. If I stop by for TDIfest, its going to make it hard to complete my planned trip. 8700 miles in 16 days.
If my trip gets canceled or rescheduled, I will most likely show up, since it is only 475 miles away. (side note, Maine last year was 975 miles for me. not at all the farthest, but a fun drive none the less)

Much better daily average than my 4000 miles in 17 days last year, but nearly 1000 miles of mine were dirt...
And the Fest last year was only 200 miles away.
