I noticed a few stations in Charlotte where diesel is now less than regular. I will found out tomorrow how the prices are in South Carolina.

As the June 30 deadline approaches for the Iran nuclear talks, there have been predictions regarding the effect on petroleum prices.

If the talks are successful, and the embargo is lifted on Iran, then it will be able to sell tens of millions of barrels of crude currently stored on tankers. Some say this could drive down crude prices by $10 a barrel.

If the talks fail, then to the extent that the markets have anticipated greater supplies from Iran, prices could rise to reflect the loss of these supplies.

Either way, the relative stability around $60/barrel for West Texas Intermediate crude is likely at an end. Flip a coin to find out which direction is next.

I was in Mob-town (a/k/a Mobile, Alabama) and was sad to see diesel prices were not lower than regular at any station. The two cheapest options were both $2.459 and neither offered pay at the pump, so I drove back to the suburbs of Baldwin County to get the go juice. Sam's Club is still $2.469 with a bonus that I don't feel like I'm going to be murdered while topping the tank.

In abq,nm diesel ranges from $2.42-2.75.
I was in northern New Mexico, Taos area and east of there this week, RUG was in the $2.77+ range and D2 was in the same range or a little cheaper..I saw D2 as low as $2.659 at one place in that region...

In Colorado on the way back to the Denver region I saw RUG and D2 for as low as $2.459 in Colorado Springs....

In the southern and middle area of southern mountainous Colorado, San Luis Valley region RUG was running in the same range.

A good bit of water was still running at the sand dunes national monument so the kids and wife got to splash in the cool sandy water. .....I now have sand all over the interior of my car! A Fun day.....

D2 was running $0.05 to 0.10 a gal cheaper pretty much everywhere in the valley.....

...If You ever get within ~200 miles (~ about how far it is from the Denver area ) of the region, it is worth the drive to see the highest sand dunes in North America....

Lol...climbing sand dunes at 7600 above sea level... Good way to get your heart pumping and your lungs burning!! Spent some time out that way....lots of time out that way...
There is also an Alligator farm up the road...in the high mountain dessert of Colorado!!!

According to the Energy Information Agency, diesel is now cheaper than regular unleaded gasoline (RUG) in three of the five PADDs:
PADD 5, the West Coast, diesel averages $3.068 and RUG $3.309
PADD 4, the Rocky Mountains: diesel $2.776 and RUG $2.791
PADD 2, the Midwest: diesel $2.731 and RUG $2.736

But in PADD 3, the Gulf Coast: diesel $2.730 and RUG $2.542
and in PADD 1, the Northeast: diesel $2.954 and RUG $2.727

Nationally, RUG is 4.2 cents/gallon cheaper.
http://www.eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/

But I have a feeling that gasoline prices are going to decline significantly over the next several weeks, while diesel stays about where it is today -- it's inevitable, sooner or later. Still, it's been a good run this year, close to two months where diesel is cheaper or at least about the same as RUG.

Well, just tanked up for 2.99/gal , here in the OC, in the state everyone loves to hate. A good 40-50c cheaper than regular, on the average. Didn't shop around, might have done better.

There are the occasional crazy stations with high prices, just because. Day after paying that, was up in LA, and saw 4.39! A block later saw 3.20, guess some just don't want to sell diesel....

Been longer than three months with diesel below reg out here if I'm remembering right. Been a pretty long time before, with it the other way around.

On my road trip from Charlotte to Des Moines. I've seen d2 from $2.47 in SC to $2.95 on the Ohio toll road. $2.76 in South Bend, IN and $2.54 here in Des Moines. Only averaging low 30's with the kayak trailer. Bikes on it but still more wind drag than I was expecting.

Fuel prices in Des Moines:

D2 $2.55
RUG $2.83
PUG $2.60
Premium $2.90

These are all rounded up the last 1/10th of a cent.

Filled up today in Burlington, VT at my usual station. ULSD was $2.99, which has been the going rate here for about the past 3 months, although I did see one station that had it for $2.93. RUG is about $2.75, midgrade is about $2.99, and premium is about $3.19. With the increased mileage from the warmer weather, it's costing me a little under $0.08/mile.

Today I fueled up in Eastern NC at a BP:

RUG $2.54
DD $2.59

That's the best I've seen in the area.

Gas jumped up around here, in the last week. Today, gas is around $2.89 and diesel is still around $2.79. Sometime after the 4th of July, it'll probably start to switch around.

.....au contrare amigo............

Here on the lower leff coast:

RUG $3.299 (while D2 is a mere $2.999)......at the high turnover Chevron near the UP rail yard....................

East coast differential appreciated (and envied)

These is all Germantown TN, East of Memphis. I am paying 2.36 and with discount points of 0.10 $2.26.... Kroger's Grocery. I have to drive 9 miles one way to get this. I have business in that area I get fuel there if I can. For every $100 you spend per month you can get $0.10... up to a dollar off. You can buy up to 35 gallons. My cheap friend fills up his Jetta TDI and wife's Passat TDI at the same time.... He has kids so he spends a lot on on food, so I am sure he is getting 0.30 to 0.50 cents off. So I assume he can save $15 or more....

Murphy USA (Walmart) is also $2.36 with 0.03 discount if you use a Walmart cash/gift card to pay... (just add money to card during checkout).

Shell is $2.36... down the street is.

The price in the Memphis area... is $2.45 to $2.69.....$2.59 - $2.65 is typical.

I was gonna ask about the Schnucks gas station in Germantown but I just remembered all those stores closed after I moved away. The Schnucks, Kroger and Murphy are the three places I would fill up in Memphis when I would visit.

Here on the Alabama Gulf Coast the prices haven't budged in a while. Diesel is still $2.469-$2.999 and regular is around $2.459-$2.659.
