Rear defrost

Is there something that turns off the defrost other than pushing the switch again? I used it yesterday and noticied when I got home it was still on (45 min drive).

Normally they are on a timer of some kind.

Stays on for sure. Also stays on if I shut the car off and later turn it back on.

Is the switch supposed to pop out without pushing it again?

They did away with the timed defroster switches on the late A4's.

I agree they are complety retarted. Push the button down and it will stay there forever until you push it again. Same engineer who designed the ridiculous mirror heater switch must have designed the defrost button too. Probably drinks too much at night when he gets out of work...
