Hi folks.
I have a mk5 Golf with a 1.9 tdi that had been tinkered with by previous owner and after owning it for a month it over boosted and bent a rod. Mechanic says it sounds like oil pump has gone as well. Looking at replacing the engine with a motor from a 2013 Jetta 2.0tdi low miles that has a blown auto. I have access to the whole Jetta if lots of swapping is involved.
My main question is that my car is manual and the Jetta is auto. I expect reprogram of ecu but will my gearbox fit the 2.0 tdi? Anyone have access these to measure or have you done this? Any help would be awesome or links to another thread I haven’t found yet.
