MFD changes back to phone every startup

Hello all,
Our ‘12 Golf TDI’s MFD resets to the phone function every time the car is started. Just recently started doing this. No changes to have been made recently to the car.
Will change it to the Consumption readout and next time it is started it will be back on Phone regardless if one is paired or not.
Has me stumped. Any input appreciated. Thanks!

My 14 JSW seems to do the same thing. Not every time but probably 75% of the time. Very annoying. I don't even have a Phone pared with the car.
