I'm no expert But, I would think you would need the tranny, ecu, tcm, and at least a dozen other parts to make the MK5/MK4 transplant happen, if at all.
I'm sure it has been done but it would take way more effort than it is worth.....IMO.
You have an "ALH" engine, any other "ALH" will work....basically from any '99-'03 mk4.
