http://www.fueleconomy.gov now has the 2004 EPA fuel economy guide and numbers.
2004 PD TDI cars:
Manual: 38 city, 46 highway (Jetta wagon 36 city, 47 highway)
Automatic: 33 city, 44 highway (New Beetle 36 city, 42 highway)
Others of interest:
Honda Insight manual: 60 city, 66 highway
Honda Insight automatic: 57 city, 56 highway
Honda Civic Hybrid manual: 46 city, 51 highway
Honda Civic Hybrid automatic: 48 city, 47 highway
Toyota Prius automatic: 60 city, 51 highway
Note that the Prius' EPA interior volume is 96 for passengers, 16 for cargo. This is bigger than the Passat (95/15) and Mazda 6 (96/15), but not as big as the Camry (102/17), Accord (103/14), Malibu (101/15), and Taurus (102/15).
The Fuel Economy Guide also says that there is a hybrid Chevrolet Silverado / GMC Sierra pickup truck, but fuel economy numbers are not yet available.
