Ok, I know getting over 800 miles on a tank isn't that unusual these days and I know there is probably one of these posts every week, but my TDi at just over 4000 miles just turned in its first tank over 800 (825) and the first over 50 mpg as well (15.8 gallons = 52.2 mpg). So I guess it is still a special occasion for me. So far (2 months) it has been the best car I've had.
