Injection Pump Leaking

I have a 2002 jetta TDI with 168K. The injection pump began leaking. Cheaking for repair parts prices. The shop wants $1219 for the Pump. The Part number is 038130107JX. I found it at hansautoparts-charlotte.com for $730. The math is in thier favor. The shop will let me bring the part in and just charge labor. Is anyone familiar with them hansautoparts-charlotte.com ?

It's the "bad vendor " list. just get a trusted mechanic to look at your problem. That list is a sticky at the top of "101" and probably has someone close enough to go see.
Other choice is to get a new pump from idparts. I've got 197,000 miles on my 2002 jetta. No fuel leaks that I'm aware of yet. Lucky , I guess.

The old adage of if it sounds too good to be true it probably is.....

Why not buy a Bosch injector pump reseal kit, and reseal it? That will save you TONS of money. There are plenty of how to's on how to do it.

Basically purchase both the above items, and use the diesel geek procedure and your leaks will pretty much go away!

If it is just leaking out of the head, you can put an oring in it for 15 bucks and call it a day, although that is typically a sign that other seals will soon be following.

1360 miles is a bit much just to have a seal kit installed, dontchyathink ?
