i work for a guy and he has a 2006 jetta with 6spd. dsg. 83k miles. i have been "test borrowing" it for 1200 miles. i think it is due for some routine maint. but am wondering about the transmission. i like the way it drives and shifts but every once i awhile it has a slight shudder in second gear when accelerating,not when shifting into 2nd. the harder i accel. the worse the shudder. it keeps pulling till the shift to third. doesnt do it every day, only sometimes and only in second gear. could it be possible for only one gear to slip? im sure its due, or over due for trans service,fuel filter,air cleaner, and yes i know that timing belt is needed soon.
good deal on car,$8k. rebuilt where i work. had 3k of body damage that was repaired. his wife has been driving it for approx. 5k miles till i showed some interest then i have been driving it for a month.
