Cetane boost +1 point == +0.1 cetane?

That’s how it works with octane boost. 1 point == just 0.1 octane. Is it same with cetane boost?

Thanks :)

They're claiming a range of cetane points, where a point is a point. Raising a 45 CN fuel 1 point will get you a 46 CN fuel.

The chemistry is complicated however, so the sellers will only claim a range, hoping you always assume the higher number of the range and knowing they'll only shoot to manufacture to the lower number of the range.*

My Amsoil Cetane boost does not list a range. It just says +8 points when I put 2 ounces in my Beetle.

So if the base cetane was 45 do I now have 45.8? (That’s how octane boost works.)

+8 points should get you to 53. You'd be able to tell from running. The engine knock should smooth out. Easier starts, smooth running. That much cetane boost should be observable to you.
