Is this a good deal for a rebuilt title?

2005 Passat Diesel, 72000 miles, everything looks/drives great, salvage tiltle is due to a front passenger side accident that has been repaired. Price 14,500$

This question comes up over and over. May I suggest a quik search on "salvage"? You'll see plenty of other threads and lots of opinions.

My theory: If you're self-sufficient, and intend to keep the car 'til the wheels fall off, it could be an OK deal.

If you're the average American who flips cars every 3 - 4 yrs, I think it's a really bad idea 'cause it will devistate future re-sale-ability.

Does that make sense? Let us know how else we might help out.

Thanks dieseldorf and ymc, I have actually met Jason before. He came to check out my old TDI for the new buyer before she bought it. I sent Jason a PM, and hopefully I will get to stop in and see him at his shop soon.

I am much worse that the average american, I flip cars and motorcycles every 4-12 months with a few exceptions...
