You should be able to change bits in a single byte somewhere in the configuration to light up each element in the face. My unit has its face lit all the time.No lit needles either, but I don't care. I have all that stuff on the 04.
Vag-tacho should be able to adapt the keys, but I usually just use it to pull the pin code and then adapt with VCDS.
Alright. I didn't try it on the street, and I don't have a stalk with the buttons (yet) to switch modes. What you see is normal.
Default display: Cumulative fuel economy from memory #2. ---- until the vehicle moves after resetting memory 2. Memory 1 resets after two hours with the ignition off.
200 MPG - overrun and coasting in neutral with sufficient speed.
--- - 200 MPG - normal operation.
I had the same thing happen, but cruising, it gives me the correct MPG. ~40 @4th = 52MPGWhat was weird when I put the MFA in my 99.5 is that it would not blank out when the car was stopped. Like on my 04, if the car is idling and not moving, it will just read ---- because 0/X =0, but on the 99.5, it simply held the last instant MPG when the car was moving. I could be sitting there idling and it's telling me that I am getting 52MPG. I didn't have a stalk installed, so I couldn't toggle through the menus to see what happens to the average MPG.
Hopefully it isn't going to effect my MPG display too bad.......
12mpgis your instant fuel mileage still showing you strange numbers? Say you're going around the parking lot at 25mpg with your foot on the gas (not coasting), what is it telling you?
You said foot on the gas. Im thinking "flooring it"ouch buddy
Sweet! Can't wait to get the stalk. Is there a way to change modes without the stalk? It's normal for the (earlier) MFAs to display the last instant FE reading (given the vehicle moved after starting) when stopped. The trip computers still record the correct average.
Did you ever manage to get the Immo2's tach rescaled or the airbag light working for use in a 99.5 TDI?I really have to get that project wrapped up....
