Hello:
I am planning on doing my own DSG fluid change. I have the dieselgeek skid plate fitted. Does anyone know if this needs to be removed to get to the DSG transmission drain plug?

Also, I looked at the IDParts video and it looks straight forward but are there any got ya's or is the general recommendation to get this done at a dealer?

Thanks...

Yes you will need to take the skid plate off to do this service. Its not a fun job, you absolutely need the service kit ID parts sells (funnel, hose, adaptor, 24mm socket). VCDS is pretty much a necessity too to make sure the transmission is at 24 deg before pulling the plug to check the fluid level.
