Bit the bullet and moved into the 20th err 21st century and now am a cell phone owner. Bought a $10 dongle and downloaded the free version of VAG DPF. Looked at the daughters car and my car and with the 3 available parameters it looks like both my daughters and my Golf's have regen'ed within the last 100 miles and have current soot loads around 10 grams. I have since bought the paid version of Vag DPF but haven't used it yet. My question is where does a typical regen start as far as soot load quantity?
I also want to thank everyone for the good info when inquiring about this subject a while back.

Yes around 24 to start one and will stop at around 6 or so, assuming you are just driving down the road constantly. About every 200 to 250 miles for me. Regens take about ten minutes to complete, again, assuming just constant driving down the road. Type of driving will make a difference. All highway cruising will be at longer intervals and all city driving will be at much shorter intervals.
