The short version: My '04 Jetta started repeatedly blowing fuse 13 for the brake light circuit, and has continued even after replacing all the bulbs and the brake light switch. It has also started throwing a traction control light and throwing a code for the brake pressure sensor. Will a bad pressure sensor (ABS module) also blow the brake fuse?

Here's the long version, with scan results.

A few weeks ago I got a flashing glow plug light, and no brake lights. After a quick search of the forum, I checked fuse 13, which was blown. I replaced it, and the next day it blew again. Next, I took out all the LED rear lights that the PO had installed, and unplugged the 3rd brake light. Then, I plugged in the 3rd brake light and tested, and the fuse held. Continued installing new, stock bulbs one by one and testing, and everything seemed fine until the next day, when the fuse blew again. Around this time, the traction control light also started illuminating, sporadically at first, eventually continuously. A few days later I scanned with VCDS, and got these:

Based on some more forum searches, I replaced the brake switch with a new (green) one from the dealer, stuck in yet another new fuse, and cleared the codes. Later that day the fuse blew again. I scanned again:

At this point, I parked it until I can get this sorted out. The glow plug light is flashing because the fuse is blown. If I clear the codes, the traction control light returns the first time I depress the brake. I am able to shift the (auto) transmission out of park with no issues. I'm unsure whether the cruise control works.

At this point, I'm looking for a little perspective. I've read that the brake pressure switches / ABS controllers in these are prone to failure. I've also read that weirdness in the brake circuit can throw a spurious pressure switch code. I'd like to try to sort out whether one of these codes is dependent on the other, or they're independent, rather than diving in blindly. Anybody else have some success with a similar scenario?
