Fan keeps running

Hello again. My fan keeps running and causing the battery to die. I've removed the fuse for now, any ideas what causes this?

The temp switch sensor which screws into the rad is most likely dead and has shorted in the "closed" position, causing the fan to get constant 12v current. A simple test with a voltmeter or test light to see if it sending voltage when cold, should determine if it is bad or not.

Didn't say what car you have, but if it is an A4 platform car it is more than likely a bad fan control unit. Very common.

Oh...Its a 200 Jetta TDI

That's an oldie but a goodie... is that AD or BC?

(Think your missing a number but presumably it is an MK4?)

My 2002 Jetta just started doing this for the past week now.
